It is hard to believe this school year is coming to end. It has been a very busy yet rewarding year and the time has flown by. I am proud of our students and staff and I know they will close out the school year focused on what needs to be completed.
End of the Year for 8th Graders:
On Friday June 15, 2018, the 8th graders will be celebrating the end of their 8th grade year. They will report to 2nd period at 9:00 AM and then move to the gym for an 8th grade recognition assembly that parents/guardians are invited to attend. This assembly will be from 9:10 to about 9:55. Students will have a chance to say hello and see their family members but we do ask visitors to exit the building shortly after the conclusion of the assembly so we can free up the parking lot for Felida’s 5th grade celebration. The 8th graders will then see a slide show prior to their party which will be from 11:30 to 1:30 with school dismissing at 1:30 (2 hour early release the last two days of school). Dress is meant to be casual and 8th grade students are encouraged to wear the 8th grade t-shirt that they received a few weeks ago.
Just a reminder that Limos are not allowed on campus because of the congestion they cause. We are not encouraging Limos at all but if Limos are rented, they need to meet students across the street in the church parking lot.
End of Year Info for ALL:
Please see the enclosed flyer about the end of year info for students. Some of the policies are district directed and/or mandated by transportation.
I would like to thank all the parents/guardians who have volunteered their time to support the students at Thomas Jefferson and/or supported your students as they prepare for High School. Your efforts are appreciated and need to be recognized.
